Be a part of The Empty Closet! Are you a creative, community minded, queer person in Rochester? Apply now for a 12-week fully funded program to create a new issue of The Empty Closet!
The program:
Six participants will work together over 12 weeks (May-July) to create an issue of The Empty Closet, with the intention of securing additional funding to continue past the program’s completion. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from local professionals and build valuable design, writing, outreach, and publishing skills. This is a funded program, all participants receive a $400 stipend.

Identify as LGBTQ+
Actively living in Rochester
Participants do not have to:
Have experience in this field
Own a computer
Have a college degree

The Rochester Rainbow Union published The Empty Closet for over 40 years until 2020. The organization’s mission it to uplift and support all members of the greater Rochester rainbow community through inclusive and equitable outreach, education, and collaboration.
About Rathaus press:
Rathaus Press is a risograph print studio and community art space founded by Evan Bobrow. Their goal is to provide accessible art resources to the Rochester queer community and elevate voices through print. Rathaus will be facilitating this workshop and printing the final publication.
