Volunteers are the reason we are able to stay open
We’ve returned to a grassroots volunteer-run center and we depend on people like you volunteering their time. As we grow our volunteer base, we will be able to open more hours during the week!

I get the opportunity to interact with some really cool people and through the Lilac Library, I get the opportunity to help folks by connecting them to resources and information, in the safety of an explicitly queer space.”
We have a variety of volunteer opportunities
We have plenty of in-house library projects from archival work with our magazines and newspapers, collection maintenance and circulation with our books, media, and clothing closet, and seasonal craft projects. For folks interested in an adventure we also have tabling and outreach opportunities to connect with the Rochester community.
